When should we bring in a health, safety and CDM consultant?
As early as possible. CDM 2015 places duties on clients and designers from the start of a project, so advice at the planning and design stage is usually the most effective. Organisations also bring us in when taking on new contracts or programmes, after an incident, ahead of audits, or when they need specialist capacity their own team doesn’t have.
Can you support duty-holder roles such as Principal Designer?
Yes. Our services include Principal Designer and Principal Contractor support, client CDM oversight and CDM project management. On projects with more than one contractor, CDM 2015 requires the client to appoint a principal designer and a principal contractor in writing; we can take on or support these roles, or help you check that they are being carried out effectively.
Do you work on retained or one-off engagements?
Both. From a single service to a full turn-key solution, we can create a bespoke health and safety package that works for you: a one-off review or project, specialist consultancy, or ongoing support and assurance.
Can you support contractor assurance and supply chain management?
Yes. This can include supplier health and safety evaluations, reviews of contractor documentation such as risk assessments, method statements and construction phase plans, site audits and inspections, and supplier performance meetings.
